Australia Awards Scholarships 2026 Intake

  • Host Country: Australia

  • Hosting Institutions: Leading Australian universities (University of Sydney, ANU, Monash, etc.)

  • Eligible Countries: Ethiopia and many African, Asian, and Pacific countries

  • Level of Study: Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD

  • Study Duration:

    • Undergraduate: 3–4 years

    • Master’s: 1–2 years

    • PhD: 3–4 years

  • Scholarship Benefits:

    • Full tuition fees

    • Return airfare

    • Establishment allowance (AUD 5,000+)

    • Living expenses (stipend approx. AUD 30,000 per year)

    • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

    • Introductory Academic Program (IAP) before courses start

  • Eligible Fields of Study: Priority sectors include Agriculture, Health, Engineering, Public Policy, Water Resources, etc.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Minimum of 2 years work experience (mandatory)

    • English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 overall, no band less than 6.0)
    • Must commit to returning to your home country for at least 2 years after study

  • Course Start Date: February 2026

  • Language Proficiency:

    • IELTS mandatory unless you have an exemption (some universities allow English proficiency letter if your degree was fully in English)

  • Work Experience: Mandatory (minimum 2 years after graduation)

  • Deadline: Applications expected to open February 2026 and close April 2026 (final dates will be announced soon)
